Frozen Pancakes Topping Ideas

Frozen pancakes topping ideas for a delicious breakfast

No matter if you’re a “just grabbing something before I get out the door” person or a true breakfast enthusiast, pancakes must be high on the list of everyone’s favourite brekkie meals. Sweet or savoury, having pancakes for breakfast is definitely a treat as well as a filling way to start the day.

But mastering the art of making fluffy, tasty pancakes might take some practice, so for those mornings when you don’t feel like making a mess, we have the best solution: our Classic Frozen Pancakes. Golden and crispy on outside but soft and doughy on the inside, our pancakes are quick to make and just as delicious.

How To Cook Frozen Pancakes

Making your own pancakes is not a quick job, especially if you’re aiming for a tall stack. So when hunger pangs, our frozen pancakes are ready to be enjoyed in just 5 minutes.

We recommend cooking them from frozen in the toaster.

Simply unwrap the pancake from its packaging, pop it in the toaster. Toast it until it’s hot and looks crispy and golden. Depending on your toaster, you might need more than one toasting cycle. If your toaster has the “Defrost “setting you can use that.

Be careful when removing the pancake from the toaster because it will be very hot. The next step might be tough, but please let the pancake rest for one minute before eating.

If you don’t have a toaster you can also pop the pancakes in the microwave.

Microwave on full power for:

·        2 pancakes 650W/B: 1 min; 750W/D: 1 min; 850W/E: 1 min

·        4 pancakes 650W/B: 2 mins; 750W/D: 1 1/2 mins; 850W/E: 1 1/2 mins

Let the pancakes rest for 2 minutes before serving. More pancakes will require a longer heating time.

Pancake Topping Ideas

Now the fun part begins – picking what goes ON the pancakes. Sure, sweet dough is great, but toppings can make the meal more nutritious and/or more of a treat.

1. Fruit

You can’t really go wrong with fruit as a topping for your pancakes. You can mix and match them with other spreads, and topping pancakes with fruit is a great way to get kids towards their 5-a-day. Try some delicious combinations like:

-        Strawberry and cream cheese

-        Nectarine or peach slices and ricotta

-        Peanut butter and banana

-        Blueberries and Greek yogurt

Jam

Jam is another classic spread for pancakes, and something that everyone has in the pantry. Why not try it with a dollop of cream – the jam and cream combo is not reserved just for scones. You can also try a mix of peanut butter and jam for a sweet + savoury mix.

Butter and honey

For a simple yet delicious way to add more nutrients to your meal, just spread some unsalted butter on the hot pancake. Drizzle with honey and sprinkle some nuts or seeds if you’d like, for some added crunch and a boost of omega-3.

Bacon and maple syrup

This American breakfast classic has quickly become a transatlantic brunch staple. Bake the bacon in the oven to make it nice and crispy. Once it’s done, place it on a paper towel to cool off and absorb some of the grease. Stack up your pancakes after toasting or microwaving them, add the bacon rashers on top, then drizzle as much maple syrup as you’d like.

There you have it: a few ideas of how you can enjoy our Classic Frozen Pancakes, but we encourage you to be as creative as you’d like. You can also enjoy them as a dessert or a treat any time of the day you’d like.
