Our fields

Perthshire

  • Welcome to our farm in Meigle Perthshire. We are a father and son team and we love growing peas - that’s why we’ve been doing it for over 40 years! We live on our farm together with our two four legged friends Jack and Fred.

  • Everyday life at our farm

Our main farm is about 1100 acres and we employ around 20 full time members of staff. When we started growing peas about 40 years ago, we originally carted the whole crop of peas to the farm to be vined through a static viner. Mobile viners have really revolutionised the growing of our crop, which has allowed us to expand steadily from our original 25 hectares to our current 2000 hectares of pea fields. Besides growing Birds Eye peas, we also grow strawberries, raspberries and blackcurrants. When it is time to pick the fruit, we get in around 300 members of staff to help us with this task.

  • What we do

We have a progressive farming company and like to be involved in new developments in technology – we especially love our mobile pea-viners! We also take a keen interest in conservation and are part of a number of projects, which aim to benefit the environment. We are members of the LEAF Marque scheme and also won a Tesco Nature’s Choice Award for Environmental Enhancement in 2007.

Each year we host a local primary school visit as part of the Royal Highland Educational Trust.
